Vintage Advertisement Images to Share and More...

Here are some wonderful advertisements that I've found around the Internet.  I thought I'd share them for Pink Saturday and Think Pink Sunday.

Most of them I got from the Graphic Fairy, but some I got from other places.

Here they are:  You are free to copy these for your own.

I was inspired by finding this Ad with the woman smoking and the dream man in the background.  Up until recently, smoking ads were romantic, clever, funny and innocent.  Here are a few examples of those:

Here are two blog posts that share the same stories:

Ok I know this started about about innocent ads, but advertising can be potent.  It's interesting how time and the more we know changes our views on things (like cigarettes) in the world.  I'm glad that there are stricter laws about smoking.  I'm sure I've had enough, 2nd hand smoke, in my life time.

My Favorite Things #2 Flamingoes

FLAMINGOS

Our church held a fund raiser for the youth group.  If someone paid $20 they could nominate a family to have their yard "flocked".  My friend had our house flocked with these pink plastic flamingos.  Then we had our friends and neighbors flocked too.  It was really fun to do and a huge surprise, to us, when we found all the flamingos on our lawn.

Since when are flamingos blue?  Amazing what photo editors can do.

The beautiful color of Flamingoes (and a number of other colorful birds) is acquired from their diet. The small crustaceans and algae that the flamingoes eat contain carotinoid and other natural pigments that are processed in the body and deposited in the growing feathers. (Carotene is one of the most common carotinoid pigments and is what makes Carrots and other vegetables orange in color.) Only specific red chemical compounds will color Flamingoes. This means that you can't turn a Flamingo blue by feeding it blue colored food. At the zoo we add a product called Roxanthin Red to their food. This is what gives Flamingoes their bright "Pink" color.

Of course we can't forget Alice in Wonderland and the flamingo used as a croquet mallet.

Natalie's Room Remodel Part 2

While looking for baby pictures, uploaded on my computer, I found more pictures of Natalie's Room when she turned 6.  I decided to share them with you.  I love to look back at these pictures because it's the first time I've designed something from scratch (paint, bedding, etc).

This, I feel, is the best gift you can give a little girl.  What little girly girl wouldn't want a pink and purple fairy room. Do you recognize the purple dragon from "Barbie's Rapunzel" movie.  I think Penelope looks perfect next to the unicorn.  Don't you?

Happy 3rd Birthday to Pink Saturdays

Happy 3rd Birthday to Pink Saturday.
May we all have many more years of enjoying perfect pretty petal pink petunias and other perfect pink delights.

In honor of Pink Saturday's Birthday, I'm sharing a collage I made with Natalie's 6th Birthday photos.  It was a Hello Kitty Theme and a neighbor helped do their nails with pink sparkle polish.  While they waited turns swinging on our old swing-set.  Shortly before her birthday I surprised Natalie with her room being redone.  No more Blue and Yellow Baby stuff to a Pink and Purple Fairy land.  She was a happy girl that year.  I was happy too cause I gave what I would have wanted.

Now go to Beverly's site to celebrate the day.

For Pink Saturday a New Print for My Room

Happy Mother's Day!  I have another funny Mother's Day post for tomorrow that I hope you check out too.

I created a new print with picnik.com  for Pink Saturday. I used an image that I got from the Vintage Graphic Fairy.  I'm going to print this on glossy or matte paper and put it in my bedroom.  It will go perfect with my new pink walls.

You may save and copy my image for free. :)

How appropriate to think of the Pink Month on Pink Saturday. Both of my dad's sisters are breast cancer survivors. This post is dedicated to those who have had it, their families and for all women who are afraid of getting it (myself included).

I got this new button from Karen @ My Desert Cottage.  Go there to pick it up for your blog.
