Natalie's 5th Luau Birthday

For Pink Saturday 4th Anniversary, we are suppose to share a birthday party post.  Well, I've already given posts from previous Pink Saturday's Celebration.

I looked through my non-digital photos and uploaded the ones from Natalie's 5th Birthday, 2002.  That year I decided I doing a Luau theme. Since Natalie's birthday is in November I wrote a birthday invite that said wear sweaters above or below your tropical ware.   Even though it was mid-November the weather was perfect and we had a fantastic dinner outside.  It was family and a few close friends.  My sister-in-law, Cindra, helped me make a Hawaiian chicken dish and we had rice, ambrosia, pineapples, salad and more.

Emily, Natalie's Cousin, the Birthday Girl & Juliana, her BFF.

My handsome Dad (Morfar- Mother's Father in Swedish) and my brother Erik.

Lindsey (friend since 3 months), Juliana, Emily and Natalie

I bought a Volcano Cake and didn't get the dinosaurs.  Instead I used "sanitized" Small Palm Trees andMc Donald's Lilo and Stich toys (they were on surfboards.)  I thought the cake was perfect.  We had garlands of flowers and hibiscus clips for our hair.  I got all the Luau supplies from Oriental Trader and Napkins and Plates from Party City.  If you have never seen the Oriental Trader site, it's a must see for parties, craft supplies, teacher supplies and more.

We played the sound track from the "Lilo & Stitch" movie and The Beach Boys (who my Uncles knew way back when).

Then it was time for cake.

Even I, the hostess, got festive too.

New Header for the Month of November

I just created a new Header for the month of November. Ever since I found out about the program at Picnik, I've been having a blast creating collages, mosaics and headers. I found the pumpkin image from Karen, the Graphic Fairy and the other images on Photobucket. I love to find fun images, don't you?  Another creative source is Blingee.  It's so fun to Blingee a photo.  Here is an example of what you can do at Blingee.

This was my store's image for October.

Normally you would have Blingee written in the lower right corner, but I've paid a small amount of money to have the logo removed.

Here is November's Blingee:

and here is November's Header:

I learned how to combine 2 pictures (see 1st box) and to put the blog name in the header.  I'm constantly learning something new. :)

First I cropped this photo.  Then I added the Harvest Woman that I got from Karen at Graphic Fairy.

Then using the program at picnik.com I layered the two images.

I also got the butterfly, in the last box from Karen @ Vintage Fairy too.

The Graphics Fairy

I've already created my Header for December because that is such a busy time for everyone.  I play Mrs. Claus all month selling Barbies on e-Bay so that makes me extra busy, but not as busy as moms who work full time and raise their kids.
