For years I have wanted to do a Chinese New Years Party. I love an excuse to have Chinese food and to decorate, etc. On these links part 1and part 2 are fun stuff to print and color and decorate with.
We celebrated this past Friday, a week late. We bought red and gold napkins and gold ribbon from Party City. Then we went to Michaels and bought 12 x 12 red scrapbook paper. They had a clearance of the dark red for 19 cents so we bought 10 pieces. At the last minute we decided to use them for the center piece and the placemats. Natalie put the Chinese Characters on the corner of the paper for the centerpiece. We each had a print out of our Zodiac at our plates.
We got everyone's choice of favorite Chinese Dishes. While we waited for the food, at Crown Wok, to be ready Kurt bought a container of cuties. Natalie put the Chinese Characters on the corner of the paper for the centerpiece. I had Ben cut the white flowers and we put the cuties in a bowl. Natalie did the arrangement which was simple but perfect. I also made a huge pot of Tao Tea. We set up a food table where we were able to help ourselves.
I love how the table came out. Kurt, Ben, Natalie and I helped create this table. We enjoyed our dinner. What a great excuse for having Chinese Food.
