FLAMINGOS

Flamingos are found in Africa, Asia, North America, Central America, South America, and Europe. They inhabit the edges of lakes and swamps where they can eat shrimp, algae, and other small creatures that live in shallow water. Also can be found in the Bahamas.

Long time ago I used to think that plastic pink flamingos were tacky. Now I love them!! One time we got "flocked" by our church and found tons of flamingos on our yard. It was a fun raiser and someone paid for us to be flocked. We flocked another family that was good friends. lol

Looks like they got flocked too.

Since Flamingos are considered retro and stuff from the 40's and 50's are popular again you can find all sorts of flamingo stuff.  I personally have P.J's, stuff flamingo, a welcome sign (like the one I'm showing) and a very cool vase that I got from a thrift store.

What is wrong with this flamingo?

Flamingoes get the color pink by eating lots and lots of shrimp. That is why you can find them with different amounts of pink. This flamingo hasn't had enough shrimp lately. Shrimp sounds good to me too!!

I always thought it was funny that they eat shrimp to turn pink. Are you in Flordia?

There is a flamingo sanctuary in Mid-Southern Florida.
