Mother's Day 2013

Lon and Mom, Sante Fe, NM 2012
Happy Belated Mother's Day.  Last year I wrote a lovely tribute to my mom and this year I have been focusing on just relaxing and finally getting some "clutter" taken care of.  I want to get a new desk and told myself that I can't get it till I have a cluttered mess, in my room, taken care of.  I hope to have a calmer room and lovely pictures to share soon.

Yesterday we had my mom and my step-dad, Lon, over for lunch.  It was just the 5 of us and my husband made a fabulous lunch.  We had BBQ steak, corn on the cob, a huge green salad, asparagus and angel's food cake with real whipped cream and tons of strawberries, blackberries and peaches.  Kurt went to a local produce market and bought all the fruits and vegetables.  Then he went to Sprouts, which is a Farmer's Market Grocery store, nearby.  There he got more produce and the rest of the fixings.

My mom brought guacamole and chips, so we ate that while we waited for the steaks to cook.  When she asked what to bring, I told her just yourself and Lon.  Normally I'm asking for a few dishes to help out with the meal (like I did at Easter).  She also brought wine and orange and yellow tulips.  Kurt brought me tulips on Saturday night. :)

I meant to take pictures but I forgot, so all I have are our memories.  Sometimes we spend too much time trying to capture the moments in our life that we aren't able to live these moments.  I agree it is bad for blogging but that's Ok, my blog is my own personal journey.

Here are some bookmarks I created last year:

I think I got this from this site.  If not this one they have other wonderful banners there.

This is a blog button from Plumrose Lane where I get tons of fabulous backgrounds and more.

To save any of these photos just click on it, right click and save in your files.  I often save on my desk top till I know what folder I want it in.  I don't keep too many photos on the desk top cause I think it slows my computer down.

P.S.  My mom is 82 and is healthier than most people .  She has lived through a divorce and  almost poverty and has come out ahead.  She always worked hard to make our life good and never gave up.  Above is a link to her tribute.  I'd be honored if you read more about her.

I tell myself I can't work in my creative space until everything is uncluttered. I get it all set, start to work and it is right back to cluttered. I worked until late last night and didn't clean up. When I went out to my space this morning I was mad at myself for so much clutter, but I finished up 5 projects so I was happy.

Good luck with getting a calmer space.
