YUMMY MACARONI & CHEESE

I love Macaroni and Cheese but I hate to eat processed food.  Natural food taste and is better for us.  I found this recipe at Heck Fridays Link party.  Now I could  copy the recipe, but Joi, Erin and their mother Janet, have done such a great job explaining it.

I waited to post about the recipe till I tried it. That would be lame to do otherwise. Anyways, I loved it! It was so easy to make and even my husband liked it (he's a bit picky). I'm going to make it again this week. :)

Here are more pictures of their recipes.  You can find the links for them here.

Now I need to try her other recipes.  Please check out Remodelholic's Link Party and Check out Heck Friday's wonderful recipes.

What is your favorite food/best recipe?? Tell the Truth Thursday-9-9-2010

Tell The Truth Thursday

The question this week is :

What is your favorite food/best recipe??

I don't remember who I got this recipe from.  It was probably from my Dad's mom (Farmor in Swedish).  She lived near us and we got to see her often.  My Mormor and Morfar (my Mom's parents) lived in Sweden and I only got to see them 2 times, when I was 3 and 16 years old.  My Farmor was an amazing cook.  I would love to watch and help her cook and then share it with other family members.  I remember I was always praised if I ever helped Farmor out.  I was very close to her till she died at age 84 (just shy of 85) in 1990.  I was 28 at the time and glad I had her for that long.

APPLE CAKE

INGREDIENTS:

1 cube butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour and 3/4 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
3 apples sliced with 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1 cup sugar

PREHEAT Oven for 400 degrees F

First slice the apples and soak in the cinnamon and sugar (that was mixed together)

Mix flour and baking soda together, put bowl aside.

Then mix the sugar and butter together till smooth.  Add two eggs, one at a time.

Add flour and baking soda mixture slowly.

Pour into a loaf pan/meatloaf pan

Put in the apple slices.  You will need to keep on smooshing them in to make them all fit.  Then pour the cinnamon on top.

Bake for about 40 minutes.

Picture this with apples stuffed in it.

Serve with whip cream, vanilla pudding mixed with whip cream, or ice cream.

This is easy and sooo soo yummy!
